This lesson allows students to discover the simple beauty found within a triangle. By simply drawing a line from each number within or outside of each quadrant to another number they discover the evolution of design itself. Students recreate multiple triangles by connecting the lines or points of the triangles to others within or without the four quadrants. They are discovering a form of multiplicity and simplicity using only a triangle. Once they have drawn those lines they must see that whatever lines they have drawn in one quadrant must equal the same in all four quadrants. Students may then discover patterns all their own to add shading or color. This is an excellent lesson on visual balance.
